What activity or activities are you going to offer?
- Ask the young people what they would like to do – this is essential if the programme is going to be inclusive and encourage all children to take part
- Consider what equipment and space is available
How many activities can be offered?
- Be realistic and think about how many can be offered in the time and space you have available
- Try to include a variety of activities which will cater for all groups
When will an activity be offered?
- Work out whether this will be on specific days, every day during a specific timeslot, every day all day (informally) or a combination of these
Where will the activities take place?
- Consider what space is available. Can you use any outside areas? You may need to restrict certain activities so they don’t dominate.
Who will lead/supervise the activities?
- Depending on the activities offered, decide if any are suitable to be led by the children/young people themselves or a supervisor or a qualified leader
How will the activity programme be monitored?
- Consider if you would like to measure if the programme is successful or not and ways of doing so, e.g. ask the young people and staff for feedback
