Active Clubs is a national programme designed to encourage more children and young people to take part in physical activity, particularly during out of school hours and particularly those who are inactive.
The Active Club Pack (ACP) provides:
- Structured physical activities
- Informal activity
- Purposeful physical activity
- Information to encourage clubs to build links with community based organisations
- Opportunities for participation
The programme offers:
- A network of trained tutors UK-wide
- Active workshops to develop play leaders’ skills and confidence and to share good practice
- A FREE Active Club Pack for every out of school children’s setting when a member of their staff attends an Active workshop
Since the introduction of the programme in 2003, more than 450 people have become trained Active Club Tutors and over 2,000 trained playworkers are delivering Active Clubs to children and young people.
